We are nearly at the end of our stay here and it is with great chagrin that we are leaving this beautiful lotus country called Lishui. Starting from our departure in Wenzhou up till now, we have encountered no discomforts or lack in hospitality from the hospital staff and the people of Lishui and so, are proud and happy to have chosen Lishui People Hospital as our medical practice center for this past month.
During this past month we have been to almost every departments of clinical medicine and have witnessed the seriousness and the great skillfulness of the doctors here in Lishui. We were provided many a facilities that really eased our journey here away from the campus. We can without doubt say that Lishui is our second home after Wenzhou.
We also wished to thank the hospital board to have provided us with volunteers on the first day itself. These volunteers doctors are now our best friends here in lishui. They have strived hard to help us in our medical practice even though they had busy schedules to attend to. We were gladly surprised by their friendliness and well spoken English.
Another thing we really appreciated during our stay here were the numerous outings, parties, dinners and lunches. We got to know a lot about the cultures and traditions of lishui and even deepened our knowledge about the Chinese language. It was also a great pleasure for us to enjoy the greenness and quietness of lishui compared to the busy and quite polluted Wenzhou. The accommodation provided by the hospital in DongHai hotel was 5 stars. We are surely going to miss the hotel room in Wenzhou.
The daily morning rounds in the different wards permitted us to gain a better knowledge about the different diseases and their treatment. We were glad to see that most of the patients were successfully cured; even the grave cases were treated easily and had high chance of survival mainly due to the high technology equipments. We also did notice that a great percentage of the patients in the hospital are mainly road accident cases and think that preventive measures rather than curative methods should be undertaken so as to lower the number of casualties.
My friends and I were luckily allowed to attend numerous surgeries whereby we were amazed by the dexterity of the doctors and the professionalism by which the operations were carried out.
Also we are grateful for the numerous lectures provided by some departments during this one month. It helped us to understand the root causes of some diseases as all our queries about treatments, types of infection, types of diseases were accordingly fill in.
Finally I end this small summary of our stay here in lishui by thanking all the persons who helped us or provided any kind of assistance; the president, vice president, head of departments, doctors, nurses and without forgetting our two lovely coordinators who had our safety well in hand. We are leaving this city with heavy hearts but we will surely be back in near future.
